K-12 Registration for September 2025

The Somerset Hills School District welcomes all students of all grade levels to the District who reside in Bernardsville, Far Hills, Peapack or Gladstone, NJ. Students entering Kindergarten must meet the criteria for age eligibility as described below in order to be enrolled. All others may proceed to the Process for Registration section.

Kindergarten Registration 2025-2026

• A child turning 5 years old on or before October 1, 2025 is eligible to be enrolled in Kindergarten for the 2025 – 2026 school year.

• Meet and talk with teachers, staff members, and our Home and School Association representatives at the Incoming Kindergarten Parent Meet & Greet on March 10, 2025 at 4:00 PM in the Bedwell Elementary School’s Courtyard. A tour of the building will be provided. All parents/guardians are invited and encouraged to attend.

• Registration will take place by appointment, February 3, 2025 through February 21, 2025 from 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 2.30 PM – 3 PM at the Somerset Hills District Office (25 Olcott Ave). Please note that the final step in the online application process will be to select an appointment time slot from the choices above.

Process for Registration:

1. Go to the GENESIS Open Registration, linked HERE: (See below for instructions on how to translate GENESIS into other languages.) Please make sure you hit the “REVIEW and SUBMIT” and the “RESUBMIT REGISTRATION INFORMATION” button at the end of the session to save the registration. As part of the registration process, you will be required to create a login ID and password in order to submit the online registration. Be sure to pick the 2025-2026 school year in the drop down menu in the online application.

2.Registration will take place by appointment at the Somerset Hills District Office (25 Olcott Ave). The final step in the online application process will be to select an appointment time slot.

3. Registration Requirements

a. Birth Certificate

b. Two forms of proof of residency: Examples include: deed or current lease agreement, mortgage statement, tax or sewer bills, homeowner’s insurance bill, credit card or bank statements, utility bills (ex. gas, water, cable, phone) or email confirmations for utility service set-ups.

If the parents are living in the home of another person or rent but do not have a lease, then they will need to fill out the Affidavit of Owner/Landlord, get it notarized. They would need to submit two forms of Proof of residency from the above list in that person’s name

Note: For High School students residing in Bedminster, they must first call the Bedminster Township School (Phone: 908-234-0768) for an appointment to establish residency. The Bedminster township school will provide a letter to the parents which shall be submitted at the time of registration

c. Health History Form Physical Examination/Immunization Form
The physical exam must be completed /dated within 365 days prior to the date of school entry
