Hello My Name Is...
Mathematics- a universal language. Used by everyone to analyze, predict and explain our world and events that occur. Mathematics is the doorway to logical reasoning that every career will need! I believe that mathematics can be done well by everyone and it should be enjoyable and challenging at the same time. I love math and hope that all of my students will share my passion for mathematics.
I grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania and was awarded a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics from Wilkes University. I received a Masters in Mathematics from Kean University. I have also studied at Rutgers University and Stevens Institute of Technology.
I began my career in corporate America where I held management positions with AT&T, Applied Data Research and Perkin-Elmer. I am entering my 30th year of teaching this year and I love it more every year! As a teacher, I have been honored with the NJ Presidential Award in 2000 and with the National Teacher Scholar award in 2011. I was also selected as the Student Council Teacher of the Year in 2011 and was also the faculty inductee into the National Honor Society in 2011.
I was a coach for 12 years during my teaching career. In addition I have been the advisor to Key Club, Peer Leadership, a class advisor, the IB CAS advisor and presently I am the Student Council advisor.
I have always felt it was important to know my students in many ways as opposed to simply in my classroom.
