Greetings to you, and my best wishes for a new school year full of triumphs!
Starting in 2002, I have taught various courses in mathematics, statistics, and computer science at BHS. This school year, 2016-2017, I teach Algebra 1A, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2.
I recharge in the summer months by traveling and reading, after my gratifying work with young people like you throughout the school year. This past summer I hiked in Yosemite National Park and visited numerous interesting neighborhoods in San Francisco, the Fog City.
After one strenuous hike in Yosemite, I reflected on how I felt about the challenges and triumphs of the hike and recognized how some of you may experience similar feelings while learning Algebra. Despite the temptation to quit at one especially challenging point during the hike, I am glad that I pushed on because the view at the peak was indescribably magnificent and the experience was completely energizing! I hope you, too, persevere when faced with challenges while learning Algebra, because building a solid foundation in it will provide you with rewards year after year.
I look forward to working with you and to witnessing your development in all areas, mathematical and otherwise!
